Weston
Boy Scout Troop 157
Second Ski Trip
Sunday River
March 15-17, 2002
This is a ski, board, and tube trip! We're staying Friday and Saturday night at Geoff
Smith’s condominium at Sunday River in Bethel, Maine. Saturday and Sunday we will be skiing and boarding at the ski
area. On Saturday night, we’ll be
tubing at the special tube hill at Sunday River. We’ll be eating breakfasts (cereal, milk, and juice) at the
condominium, and probably ordering in pizza for dinner. We’ll be sleeping on the floor at the condo,
and so bring your sleeping bag and sleeping pad. Sunday River is a fantastic place to ski. Check it out at www.sundayriver.com. .
We'll meet at the Scout House at 6:30 pm, and drive straight through to Sunday River, stopping only very briefly. Have dinner before you leave. We’ll quit skiing at about 1:30 pm, so that we can be back in Weston by about 5-6 pm on Sunday. Cost of the trip is age dependent, as the cost of lift tickets varies with age. Boys, 12 and under: $95. Boys, 13-17: $120. Adults (18 or over), $130. If you need to rent skiis, add $35 if you are 12 or under, and $53 if you are 13 or older. This pricing includes breakfast (at the condo) on Saturday and Sunday, dinner Saturday night, lift tickets for Saturday and Sunday, and tubing ticket for Saturday night. You’ll need to bring extra money for lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and for any snacks you want to buy on the way up and back. Ski areas can be expensive for buying meals, and so plan accordingly.
